Integration of Mortgage Markets in the EU

In July 2005, the European Commission published a Green Paper 'Mortgage Credit in the EU', launching a consultation that has lasted until 30th November 2005.  At the same time the Commission published a report on the costs and benefits of further integration of the EU mortgage credit market, carried out on its behalf by London Economics, a UK-based economic consultancy.

To mark the conclusion of the consultation, the Commission is hosting a public Hearing on Mortgage Credit in Brussels in December 2005. Any policy measures to be proposed will be announced in a White Paper, to be issued in 2007.
